Quicktime .MOV files not visible when saved to shared folders

After upgrading to OS X 10.11.1 and QuickTime 10.4, when rotated MOV files are saved locally both the .MOV and sidecar .AAE files are visible in the Finder. But…

When a rotated MOV file is saved to a shared folder on an iMac running OS X 10.11.1, the rotated MOV files are hidden. Specifically — when a rotated MOV file is saved to a shared folder on a remote mac, the sidecar .AAE is visible in the Finder but the .MOV file is not.

Is this a know bug?
